| 2006 AGWG Community Survey Results |
| by Joe Giacalone Sixty two percent of those renewing their membership submitted partial or complete responses to the survey. By statistical standards, this exceeds the acceptable response rate of 50-60% followed by the Census Bureau for houseful surveys. Community issues – unfortunately most respondents did not rate the five choices, but just checked which ones concerned them. Responses/Frequency Crime 20 19% Road maintenance 23 22% ICC Impacts 34 33% Development 16 15% Community Activities 10 10% Of the respondents who did not rank the issues, 33% considered the ICC a major issue followed by road maintenance and then crime. One cannot conclude that the ICC is the primary or most important community issue, but only considered by residents as a major issue. Of those that did rank these issues, the rankings were assigned the following values: 1 Extremely important 2 Important 3 not very important 4 not important 5 not important at all Combining all those labeling an issue as #1–very important and #2-important, the biggest concern is crime, followed by road maintenance and the ICC (the difference between these two is not significant). One may conclude that crime is a major concern, but roads and the ICC remain a major issue. Crime 83.3% - important (total of extremely important and important) Road maintenance – 76% ICC 75% Development 35.3% Community Activities 27.5% When looking at only those ranked extremely important, no statistical significance between ICC and Crime is evident. Both are identified as major concerns and significantly differ from the other choices available to the respondent, including road maintenance.
