Overnight Construction Emergency Number

As an additional means of communication during overnight construction, beginning Monday, June 21, Contract B of the Intercounty Connector (ICC) project will have a live, overnight cell phone for EMERGENCY community issues. If you are experiencing a construction related problem (ex. light from the construction site coming into your window), you can call 301-580-2345. The on-call person answering the phone will investigate your issue and depending on the particular circumstances, may or may not be able to remedy the situation. Please be as specific as possible when you call with your location (street address, community, and major cross streets).

May 2010 Traffic Alert

Several residents have complained about ICC construction traffic, specifically speeding, tailgating and failure to properly signal before turning onto the site. Last week, a resident was nearly run off the road by a construction truck. State Delegate Manno has contacted SHA ICC Project Director about this incident and passed along the truck’s license number provided by the resident. I discussed this with Commander Deeme, who referred me to their traffic enforcement officer. Don’t be surprised to see some speed enforcement operations on Layhill Road and remember radar does not distinguish between a car and a truck.
